Sunday found me accompanying my mom Christmas shopping at Glorietta.  One thing about my mom is she'd always leave it up to me to choose where to eat but then what I like is not always what she would necessarily  like. So I usually choose a "safe" restaurant.  Meaning if we can't agree on where to eat, Italianni's is almost always a safe choice where we can get good food.

Crashing Lusso

With my weekend plans falling through, I found myself at loose ends one Saturday evening. So I crashed my friend's dinner party at Lusso.

Me and my friend Fanny had a goal. We were determined to finish our Christmas list.  So off we went to Shangri-la Mall one Sunday afternoon ready to face the crowd of Christmas shoppers and to do some damage to our wallets.  A few hours later, low on batt and ready to bite somebody's head off if they so much as look at us the wrong way, we headed off to grab a super late lunch.

One of the marks of a truly good restaurant is it's ability to consistently produce the same good food or to make it better.  More often than not, when I go back to a restaurant where my first experience was truly exceptional, I leave disappointed.

Craving for Chili's & Classic Confection

Last summer , for reasons I cannot remember, me and my friend May ate at Chili's.  I was craving for  some melon shake since it was a super hot day.  While almost done enjoying my fruit shake- which was really good- I noticed something black floating in it.  At first I thought it was a pit.  I was about to happily comment on how fresh the fruit shake is until I noticed a wing.  Aaack!  There was a big fat fly in my shake!  I immediately rushed to the comfort room and puked my guts out.  Though the management was apologetic and didn't make us pay for our food, traumatized as I was, I never went back.

KFC Double Down

I had so many errands to do yesterday that I didn't even have time to sit down and eat.  I was feeling peckish by mid afternoon, having had only a small breakfast in the morning and no lunch.  So I immediately hit KFC when I passed by their branch in Trinoma.

Isabelo Garden Restaurant

Inspired by the gardens of rustic Italy, this once ancestral home has become a food lovers haven.  A brain child of a former advertising executive now turned cook, Chef Portia Baluyut, finalist of Lifestyle Network's Clash of the Toque-en Ones, and her artist mother.
