2nd's

My friends and I were at a lost on where to eat before heading home.  I have been hearing such rave reviews about 2nd's that we decided to try it out.

Coming from the gym, we hesitated to go inside this nicely decorated restaurant as we were not really dressed to dine out.  But the very nice staff came out and assured us that we were dressed just fine in our gym clothes and flip flops.

CBLT, P385
Trying to choose smart, I decided to get a sandwich of grilled chicken salad, tomatoes, pickle, with some greens and served with fries.  It was Ok but nothing really memorable for me.  A bit pricey for a sandwich though.

3 Little Pigs Kawali, P645
My friend C ordered this pretty sosy lechon kawali.  It's crispy pork belly with rosemary, topped with small pieces of foie gras, served with a green mango and tomato salsa and rice.  Very bland.  We think a touch more salt was needed.  Lipitor on the side would have been much appreciated when partaking this very fattening dish.  Good thing St Luke's is just a stone's throw away.....

Red Horse Fish & Chips, P415
My other friend V ordered this beer battered dory fillet served with spiced fries, aioli sauce and malt vinegar.  Very crispy and very good but very oily.

Apple Crumble, P245

Home made stewed apples in cinnamon, topped with crumble and mantecado espresso sauce.

Chocolate Lava Cake, P295
Now this was clearly, hands down, the star of the evening.  Lava cake topped with vanilla ice cream and strawberry compote.  Good bye work out!  The cake had just the right warmth to it that the ice cream was happily and slowly melting on top.  This was so good that we came back a few nights after for seconds!
