2 Chickens for Lunch

A super quick late lunch with my friend at the Promenade in Greenhills  found us ordering 2 chicken dishes which are poles apart in taste- one subtle and the other bold in flavor.

I went straight to CocoAsian Kitchen

and ordered this

Hainanese Chicken, P190
When the food came out, the first thing to hit you is the sweet smell of sesame oil.  The smell whets your appetite and promises you a meal to remember.  But still dreaming of Wee Nam Kee's chicken, I was disappointed with this dish.   On it's own, I'm sure this dish would be at best an okay dish.  This dish has a very subtle flavor. I liked the clear broth soup more than I did the chicken.  And what I really hated was that the chicken was chopped up so hard that it broke the bones into small pieces and that I could also see and taste the bone marrow.

My friend ordered from Sizzling Pepper Steak 2

She got the
Sizzling Chicken Steak, P185

Pepper Rice, P40
Not to be mistaken with Pepper Lunch, this Sizzling Chicken from Sizzling Pepper Steak has strong flavors from the pepper and the gravy.  The thing that I don't like about this dish is that you will smell like your food after because of all the smoke from pouring the gravy.

Both Coco Asian kitchen and Sizzling Pepper Steak is located at the ground floor of Promenade in Greenhills.
